Ballarat Mountain Bike Club are an annexe of Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club. The club has evolved from the need for XC riding in and around the Ballarat area. We cater for everyone from beginners to elite rides male, female and juniors.
During the daylight saving months, from late October to late March, the club holds its weekly 'Dirt Crit' races. The circuit is non-technical, so it is good for beginners, and it's about 1km long. The majority of riders take between 2 to 3 minutes for each lap.
We have racing for two levels of juniors (primary schoolers), prep to Grade 2 and Grade 3 to Grade 6. For the seniors there are 4 levels A, B, C grades and novice, with high school aged kids/teenagers entering the grade that suits their ability. These races are focused on participation, socialising and fun, there are no prizes or prize money.
