A BSCC social get-together was held on Saturday 7th May, 2022 to say thank you to members, families, sponsors and all club supporters. On top of this, was a big thank you in the form of a Life Membership to Damien Keirl.
BSCC President Tim Canny presented Damien with a framed BSCC jersey and had the following to say;

"Damien represented Victoria and podiumed at 3 or 4 National Championships. He represented Australia, competed and podiumed at Oceania's amongst other big races. Most of his bigger wins were in invitational keirins and wheel races like Leongatha & Burnie against then household names like Kelly, Neiwand, & Bayley."
"Damien has been involved in junior cycling (as a coach) for over 15 years. He coached juniors such as Angus Lyons who this year won the Willunga stage at the Tour Down Under. And more recently, he has helped Daniel Bucknall reach great heights on the track. Along with some incredible work with the Humber girls Alaya & Iesha."
"Damien coaches kids on our Wednesday crit nights - the kids love him and he’s a big reason why the junior numbers have grown these last couple of years."
"Damien was one of our lead coaches in the Pedal2Power program teaching kids with autism how to ride a bike."
"Damien has volunteered his time for school programs, taking time out of his work and his business during summer to run track sessions."
