Road: Aggregate points for club jerseyMay 19 2010Updated May 19: Following more a spirited discussion on the forum (still going on), the BSCC committee decided that BSCC would promote the wearing of the club jersey in club races. Beginning on May 22 at the John Collier race, one of the club's blue ribbon events, you'll get an extra point towards the club aggregate every time you do a BSCC club race in your club jersey. Club jerseys are available from Gerard White. Here's the updated part: In response to the points raised on the forum by sponsored riders, who reminded the committee that they are obliged by Cycling Australia and by their sponsors to race and train in their sponsors' jerseys, the following decision was made at the BSCC committee meeting on Tuesday May 18. Registered elite riders will also receive one BSCC aggregate point for every BSCC race they do in their sponsors' jersey. In other words, the "point for a club jersey" rule is aimed at the majority of mortal riders, to encourage them (us! - ed.) to support the sponsors who support our club, and race in the club jersey - without discriminating against the sponsored riders. Why advertise Lampre when they do nothing for you or for any of us? Giving a million euro a year to a 5"2' bloke with blond tips who calls himself the Little Prince is not helping many of us. And anyway, isn't a Lampre some kind of parasitic fish? See you out there in your club jersey! Corrections? Questions? Comments? Contact the web lackey |
