MTB Racing
As a club we understand that our members are interested in different forms of riding, some want to race, others don't. This page is dedicated to the riders who want to race at the club level. While there are races being held every weekend somewhere in Victoria or Australia getting to them can be hard. For this reason the BSCC MTB club offer club racing. Whenever BSCC hosts a race they are required to get a permit from the relevant land owner, 3 months in advance and it requires many hours of the committee's time and effort to organise this. Don't get us wrong we are not complaining as we enjoy racing just as much as you do, but we think everyone should know what is involved. So with these points in mind we have come up with the following plan - there will be 1 planned race per month, on a Sunday morning (as indicated by our survey results) Now for the legal stuff, BSCC MTB is affiliated with MTBA, which means all riders must present a current MTBA 'Race' membership card during registration. Membership provides insurance coverage for both the rider and the club in the event of an incident. Non MTBA members have two options, 1) annual membership, (see the Membership page for more details) or 2) purchase a $20 Race Day Permit, which is valid for the whole event and available on the day, but we ask that you arrive early to fill in the paperwork.
The schedule for the 2012 club races can be viewed in full in Google Docs, however a summary is shown below
