MTB Club Uniform

The BSCC MTB club kit was developed to give the MTB guys and girls a different design to the traditional Road and Track design.  The light colours in the Road & Track design (while making riders more visible to motorists) don't work in an offroad environment, so a darker design was made.

How we came Up With the Design

We wanted a design that had a 'Ballarat' feel, and what is more Ballarat than the Eureka flag?  So we used that as the basis of the design. But we rotated the stars to 30 degrees, then using the stripes from the club logo we added arm bands and finally because most MTB shorts are black we made the background fade from the Southern Cross flag blue at the top to black at the bottom.

The Final Design

Short Sleeve Jersey

The Manufacturer

Custom clothing manufacturer Champion Systems is BSCC's supplier.  CS was selected because it has a full range of custom clothing, including jerseys, shorts, thermal jackets and even socks, caps & gloves.  The only limitation is that orders have to have 10 items.  All items will be custom made your requirements, with options for zipper length (short, 3/4 and full), material (thermal, summer or normal), sleeve length (short or long) and style (slim fit or relaxed fit).

Some Alternatives

The choice for clothing is almost as varied as the styles of MTBing.  The only short coming in the CS range is the lack of baggy shorts, but don't worry the design works well with any pair of black shorts, baggy or lycra.

Some members wanted a more relaxed jersey, something they can wear on all day rides with their mates, something that is long enough so it doesn't creep up the back with a camelbak on and the longer sleeves protect them from the sun:

Then for the true racer, who doesn't want to be slowed down by any material flapping in the breeze we have the skinsuit.  We advise that only riders that have a body shaped like a whippet should even attempt to wear a skinsuit.
